Colchester United U21s will take on Ipswich Town in a Professional Development League clash at Park Drive in Maldon on Friday 26th January ( 7pm).
The team led by Liam Bailey will enter the game fresh off a 4-1 Premier League Cup loss to Chelsea four days earlier. When they play their Suffolk neighbors on Friday night, they will also be attempting to avoid losing in the league for the eleventh time straight.
After twelve games, the U’s are at the bottom of the Professional Development League standings with six points.

With twenty-one points from fifteen games, Ipswich Town is presently in fifth place in the league table, five spots ahead of Colchester.
They won six, drew three, and lost six of those fifteen games. The Blues defeated Middlesbrough 2-0 in their most recent match, which was a crucial Premier League Cup match. With one round of matches remaining, the Suffolk-based team now sits second in their group after their triumph.
When Ipswich visits Park Drive on Friday night, they will also be looking to keep up their winning streak from January.
This competition has previously pitted the two teams against one another; on October 31, 2023, the Blues prevailed 2-0 in that match.
