Breaking News: Western Bulldogs Midfielder quarterback Adam Treloar just announced his departure due to…

Adam Treloar, a midfielder with the Western Bulldogs, just announced his departure.

The 27-year-old signed a contract with the Western Bulldogs precisely at the end of the AFL trade window.

It came after weeks of unsubstantiated media leaks exposing tensions between Collingwood and Treloar, who had a contract with the Magpies through 2025.

According to Treloar, the Magpies’ coach discussed with Buckley at a meeting the worries certain players allegedly had about the 27-year-old, stating that they thought it would be best for him to depart.

Treloar told reporters at Whitten Oval on Friday, “That was stated to me in no uncertain fashion.”

“It stung to be told that because I don’t think that’s the reality because I know how close I am to the guys.”

Some teams seem to be playing the long game in Richmond, while others are racing to catch up to back-to-back premiers.

“To be honest, even if I am loved and cared for by most players, there are some that don’t want you there.

“They were determined to get rid of me, so whatever they felt about it, it was going to happen.

“It was a struggle until the very last because I wanted to be at Collingwood.”

“I suppose anything stated would be enough to make me go on.

“Not a single player has approached me and acknowledged that they were a part of you moving on.”

On Thursday night, Treloar was one of four Magpies sent away as the team worked to address issues with its pay limit.

On Thursday night, Collingwood list manager Ned Guy asserted that if Treloar’s partner Kim Ravaillion hadn’t committed to play Super Netball with the Queensland Firebirds the next season, the Magpies would probably not have looked into a trade.

However, Treloar claims he never considered relocating to the Gold Coast or the Brisbane Lions, and the couple has committed to a long-distance relationship starting in 2019.

Along with their daughter Georgie, Ravaillion attended Treloar’s first news conference as a Bulldogs player.

“The remarks made by Guy are truly disheartening,” Treloar remarked.
