Ex claims, speaking on The West Ham Way, that West Ham will hold new negotiations on contracts for Johnson and Mubama. The Hammers are trying to keep both at Rush Green, so he continues, saying that the upcoming weeks will be “very important.”
Ex said, “West Ham are going to recommence talks with both Johnson and Mutuma.”
“Johnson has demonstrated his importance to the side recently, and we recognize that negotiations will pick back up in a few weeks. Mubuma is a player the team wants to keep, so hopefully both agreements can be reached, and contracts signed. Now that we’ve reached the present, it seems manager David Moyes’ team has been afflicted by a New Year’s curse. Since departing 2023, the east Londoners have not won a single game in any competition, and the manager of West Ham is under increasing pressure to change the team’s fortunes.
Although several stories after his statement imply otherwise, Moyes recently revealed that talks are about to resume over a new deal for him to stay at the London Stadium. He claims that these talks are “well down the line” already.
