It seems like Fulham is taking a proactive approach to the charges brought against Marco Silva, Aleksandar Mitrovic, and the club itself following their FA Cup quarter-final defeat by Manchester United. By requesting a personal hearing, Fulham aims to present mitigating evidence for the charges, which include improper behavior and language, as well as failing to ensure players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion.
A personal hearing allows the club to directly address the Regulatory Commission and provide their perspective on the incidents in question. This approach can be beneficial in providing context and potentially influencing the outcome of the disciplinary process.
It’s important for Fulham to ensure a fair hearing, and by opting for a personal hearing, they are taking steps to do so. This demonstrates their commitment to addressing the charges in a transparent and accountable manner. Mitrovic, meanwhile, appeared to shove Kavanagh’s arm and had to be pulled away after his red card, leading the FA to claim that the standard punishment for violent conduct was insufficient, and also charge Mitrovic for improper behaviors and/or language. Fulham were further charged by the FA for failing to ensure their players “conducted themselves in an orderly fashion”. The charges involving Silva and Mitrovic were ‘non-standard’, meaning they did not come with a pre-determined punishment and would therefore require a hearing in front of a Regulatory Commission.
