Kory Russell was taking part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon in central London on Sunday when he collapsed at the finish line in Hyde Park.
Organisers of the event said Mr Russell received specialist medical treatment at the scene before being transferred to hospital by ambulance.
In a statement on Tuesday, the organisers said: ‘With deep sadness, we confirm the death of a participant in the 2025 Royal Parks Half Marathon.
‘Everyone involved in the organisation of the Royal Parks Half Marathon would like to express sincere condolences to Kory’s family and friends.
‘The family has requested privacy, and no further details will be released in accordance with their wishes.’
The cause of Mr Russell’s death will be established later in a post-mortem examination, organisers confirmed.

The Royal Parks Half Marathon started in 2008 is London’s original half marathon which sees runners run through four of the eight Royal Parks.
The charity group who runs the event uses the money to help look after 5,000 acres of green space in the capital, teach children and adults about the natural world, care for wildlife and conserve historic monuments.
The eight parks managed are Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, St. James’s Park, The Green Park, The Regent’s Park & Primrose Hill, Greenwich Park, Richmond Park, Bushy Park, Brompton Cemetery and Victoria Tower Gardens.
