12 years after leaving Everton for Manchester United, David Moyes has returned to the Goodison Park dugout to replace Sean Dyche.

David Moyes has made a sensational return to Everton, replacing Sean Dyche at Goodison Park, the club announced on Saturday.

Moyes has arrived back on Merseyside 12 years after leaving the Toffees for Manchester United, signing a two-and-a-half-year contract with the club.

During his first stint with Everton between 2002-13, Moyes oversaw 518 games in all competitions, winning 218 (drawn 139, lost 161), ending with a win percentage of 42.08%.

He lasted just 10 months at Old Trafford before being sacked after a poor run of results, going on to manage Real Sociedad, Sunderland and two spells with West Ham.

The 61-year-old has been out of work since leaving the Hammers at the end of last season, having guided them to the Europa Conference League title in 2023.

Moyes takes over an Everton side who sit 16th in the Premier League after picking up just one win from their last 11 top-flight matches under former manager Dyche.

Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman were placed in temporary charge after Dyche’s dismissal for their FA Cup third round victory over Peterborough United on Thursday.

Everton Football Club is delighted to welcome back David Moyes as their new Manager, effective immediately.
