Scott Parker has mutually parted ways with Fulham, ending his tenure as head coach of the club. Parker, who is expected to take over as Bournemouth’s new boss, was unable to prevent Fulham’s relegation from the Premier League in their first season back in the top flight, finishing in 18th place.
During his time at Fulham, Parker oversaw the club’s promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs in the 2019/20 season, marking his first full season in charge. Originally appointed as interim manager in February 2019, Parker was later given the role on a permanent basis.
Having spent four years as a player at Craven Cottage before retiring in 2017, Parker had a strong connection with Fulham. However, his departure comes as the club seeks a new direction under new leadership.
Fulham chairman Shahid Khan expressed confidence in the club’s ability to bounce back, stating that they will hire a new head coach committed to achieving promotion and field a competitive squad.
