the longstanding radio voice of the Lightning since the 2002–03 season, has been renowned for his exuberant goal calls, capturing every one of Steven Stamkos’ 503 regular-season and 43 postseason goals leading up to Saturday’s game in Calgary, with the exception of occasions for the birth of his son, Eli, in 2006.
While Mishkin was in Vancouver when Stamkos reached the 500-goal milestone, his trademark call resonated from the radio booth at Rogers Arena: “Scoooooooore, there it is — 500! Steven Stamkos has done it!” Mishkin, reflecting on Stamkos’ achievement, expressed admiration for the forward’s versatility in scoring goals, overcoming defensive strategies and injuries throughout his illustrious career.
Given Mishkin’s unique perspective, having witnessed all of Stamkos’ goals, he’s well-positioned to rank Stamkos’ top five goals of all time, including playoff goals.
