The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed University of Michigan ice hockey junior forward Dylan Duke to a three-year entry-level contract it was announced today (Monday, April 15). The contract will begin with the 2024-25 season, and he will report to the Syracuse Crunch for the remainder of the season.
A fourth-round selection of the Lightning in the 2021 NHL Draft, Duke played in 41 games this season, scoring 26 goals and 23 assists for 49 points. Averaging 1.20 points per game, Duke ranked 11th in the NCAA in total points and was seventh in goals per game (0.63 gpg). A native of Strongsville, Ohio, Duke tallied eight game-winning goals, 12 power-play goals and two short-handed goals this season. An alternate captain, Duke was second in the nation in game-winners. This season, he was named second-team All-Big Ten and was named the MVP of the NCAA Regional in Maryland Heights after a five-point performance over North Dakota and Michigan State.
In his three-year career, Duke played in 123 games and had 100 points. He scored 54 goals and 46 assists with 21 power-play goals, 10 game-winning goals and two shorties. He finished a +25 and had 95 career blocks. He guided Michigan to the NCAA Frozen Four all three seasons and back-to-back Big Ten Tournament Championships in 2022 and 2023.
