Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady Divorce After 13 Years
Tom Brady, the NFL quarterback of fame, and supermodel Gisele Bündchen called it quits on their more than 13-year marriage on Friday. Their separation followed years of curiosity from fans and tabloids, as well as more recent rumors regarding Brady’s protracted playing career and its impact on their union.
Brady stated in his article that he and Bündchen had recently concluded their divorce.
Brady stated, “With thanks for the time we spent together, we reached this choice peacefully.” We gave our choice to dissolve our marriage a lot of thought. Naturally, it is unpleasant and difficult to do so, just as it is for many others who experience the same thing on a daily basis all around the world. But while we seek the unwritten new chapters in our lives, we hope and pray for one another’s best.
Brady and Bündchen want to continue co-parenting their kids “to give them the love, care, and attention they truly deserve,” according to a statement on Bündchen’s Instagram.
“Although it is obviously tough to go through something like this, I feel thankful for the time we had together and only hope the best for Tom always.” “The choice to terminate a marriage is never easy, but we have grown apart.”
After more than 20 years as a professional football player, Brady’s skill has declined, which has hurt his club, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, early in the season. Thursday night’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens dropped the Bucs to 3-5 and handed Brady his first losing run of three games since 2002.
The 42-year-old Bündchen has expressed in public her desire for him to retire so they may spend more time together. Following his retirement following the previous season, Brady changed his mind and decided to rejoin the Buccaneers, the team he helped win a Super Bowl with in 2020.
Bündchen filed for divorce in Glades County, Florida, on Friday. Bündchen and Brady arrived at a marriage settlement deal, which included a parenting plan, earlier this week, according to court documents. The specifics of the agreement were submitted in confidence to the court.
Earlier this week, Brady and Bündchen also finished four-hour classes on family stabilization and parent education, which are mandated in Florida for divorcing couples with young children.
Together, Bündchen and Brady are parents to two children: 12-year-old son Benjamin and 9-year-old daughter Vivian. In addition, Brady has a fifteen-year-old son named Jack from a prior union with the actress Bridget Moynahan.
Brady did not object to the divorce; he forfeited the right to a trial and any legal waiting periods, and on Friday, the court accepted the divorce.
According to Walzer Melcher & Yoda partner and divorce attorney Chris Melcher, “the couple handled things in an outstanding way by resolving fast and discreetly.”
“It was crucial that Tom and Gisele reached a settlement in order to prevent tarnishing their reputations by disclosing a contentious divorce in public,” Melcher stated. “It may have caused them to lose their reputations as a diversion.”
Brady, a prominent quarterback, and Bündchen, a supermodel, have been a well-known pair in the public eye ever since they first met. When they first became together, Brady had already won three Super Bowls with the New England Patriots, and Bundchen was a global celebrity who frequently adorned magazine covers and had high positions in the fashion business. She was allegedly the richest and best-paid model in the world in 2016.
Brady won four additional titles during their time together, one of which he won with the Buccaneers. Bündchen was frequently spotted cheering him on at games and during trophy presentations.
Brady and Bündchen went on their first date in 2006 and were married in 2009. They had met through a friend.
“I thought, ‘That is the most gorgeous, captivating grin I’ve ever seen,’ the instant I saw him smile.” In 2009, Bündchen told Vanity Fair. “For three hours, we just sat and spoke. For Christmas, I had to return home, even though I didn’t want to. Have you ever had the sensation that you just can’t get enough? We never went a day without talking to one another when we initially met.
Two ceremonies were held: one with friends in Costa Rica and one at a Santa Monica, California, Catholic church.
In her book Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life, Bündchen said, “There are times when I tell people that my husband and I love each other so much we got married twice.”
Brady declared his retirement from the NFL in February after 22 seasons, but he later declared in March that he would play one more season. Ever since, there has been a lot of conjecture on whether Brady and Bündchen fell out over his choice to play football again. This has raised concerns about whether Brady’s performance on the field has been impacted by their marital difficulties.
Brady missed two preseason games and many sessions before the start of the season. In August, Todd Bowles, the coach of the Buccaneers, informed reporters that Brady had been granted an excuse to attend to some personal matters.
On Friday, Bowles admitted to reporters that he didn’t know how Brady’s divorce was impacting his career.
Bowles stated, “When he’s out here, he performs his job and he grins a lot, and that’s really all you can go by.” “Everyone has hardships, regardless of their line of work; what matters is how they choose to respond to and overcome them. He must have something on his mind when he leaves work and everything; I’m not sure how much, but that’s a question for him to answer.
