For kneeling during the playing of the national anthem, did Mike Tomlin discipline any Steelers players?

It goes without saying that disinformation is a terrible power that can affect everyone. It made an ugly appearance at Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin earlier this year.

There were others who believed that Pittsburgh’s legendary manager, a champion of black coaches striving for parity in an industry that has treated black executives and coaches unfairly, had suspended two of his players for taking a knee during the Star-Spangled Banner.

That was not the case, however. In contrast to common opinion, Tomlin did not give pink slips to players who chose to protest the country and its injustices. In fact, he freely recognized that Pittsburgh players who refused to perform the anthem would be welcomed instead of rejected.
