Ipswich Town welcomes Ali Al-Hamadi in a long-term deal.

With 27 goals in 48 appearances, Al-Hamadi has made a big impact at Wimbledon. He signs a long-term deal with the team that runs until the summer of 2028.

Al-Hamadi will soon join his new colleagues and wear the number 16 shirt for Ipswich Town after Iraq’s Asian Cup participation.

Al-Hamadi gave Town TV a statement in which he was enthusiastic about the change.

“Ipswich is a team that is growing, and its manager is renowned for helping players reach their potential. I feel like I’m ready to take the next step in my career at this moment, and this seems like the ideal fit for me,” he remarked.

“Ipswich plays attractive football with a lot of energy and intensity, which matches my traits nicely.

I’m eager to score goals, and even though I know the Championship is a step up, I have faith in my abilities and am excited to join the team.”

Regarding Al-Hamadi’s potential, Town Manager Kieran McKenna said, “We think he’s a very exciting young striker with great attributes and a lot of room to continue to develop.

” He’s played regular senior football at AFC Wimbledon for a really strong first year, matching our recruitment criteria of being athletic, technical, youthful, and motivated.”

Al-Hamadi was born in Iraq and immigrated to England when he was a little child. He began playing football in Liverpool and advanced through the Tranmere Rovers junior system.

Throughout his career, he has played with Wycombe Wanderers in 2021, moved to Swansea in 2018, and signed a professional deal with the South Wales team.

Before moving to Wimbledon in 2022, he played on loan at Bromley for a while.

There, he finished the 2022–2023 season with 10 goals in 19 games, and he has maintained his strong play thus far this season.

AL-Hamadi is a promising addition to the team at Ipswich Town, having made his international debut in November 2021 and amassed 12 caps and three goals for Iraq.
