Amadou Onana and Abdoulaye Doucoure injury update ahead of Everton games vs Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur.
Dyche is upbeat. The knock that Everton’s player Amadou Onana sustained against Luton Town isn’t too serious.
After losing 2-1 against their Premier League relegation opponents, the Toffees were eliminated from the FA Cup. In stoppage time, Luton’s Cauley Woodrow scored the winning goal to eliminate Everton from the historic competition at the fourth round. A first-half own goal by Vitalii Mykolenko had been equalized for the home team in the 55th minute by Jack Harrison. With Idrissa Gana Gueye now representing Senegal at the African Cup of Nations, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Seamus Coleman, Andre Gomes, and Dele Alli sidelined, Dyche’s already weak roster is taxed.
Everton will have a quick turnaround when they return to their Premier League survival match on Tuesday night, traveling to Fulham. Onana received treatment during the match, and the Blues will evaluate his fitness at their Finch Farm training facility tomorrow. There is early optimism that he can play at Craven Cottage.
Following Luton’s defeat, Dyche made the following statement: “Hopefully no more injuries. Ama took a hit, but she ought to recover. Tomorrow is the roll call day.
Due to a hamstring issue, Doucoure will not be able to play in either the Fulham match or Tottenham Hotspur’s Saturday-week trip to Goodison Park.
“[Doucoure] is settling down well,” Dyche continued. However, he will not be returning this week. Youngy played 75 minutes for the Everton under-21s during the midweek, and Seamus is close.”
