injury report: Celtics legend subtend injury ….

Kristaps Porzingis Provides Positive Update After Injury Scare.

On Thursday, Kristaps Porzingis led the Boston Celtics to a 143-110 victory over the Miami Heat with 19 points and four rebounds.

The Boston Celtics defeated the Miami Heat 143-110 on Thursday, and the one thing that went wrong was something that was concerning enough to detract from one of their best games of the year.

Less than five minutes into the second half, Kristaps Porzingis made a strong move to block a baseline shot by Bam Adebayo that was getting close to the basket. The seven-foot-three center rolled his ankle after landing on the player’s foot.

However, the Latvian native came back to the Boston bench a little while later after hobbling off the court and receiving assistance from the Celtics’ training staff as he went down the tunnel.

Even during a stoppage, he pretended to box with Jaylen Brown, giving the impression that he was in a high mood.

Porzingis addressed the media following the game and said, “I just went to contest Bam’s shot, and as I came down, just landed on his foot, and (then) I rolled my ankle; not too bad, just, in the moment, it kind of, he got me pretty good in the moment, but feeling pretty good now.”

The former All-Star stated he could have continued the game, but considering the circumstances, it was best to err on the side of caution. The Celtics had ruled him iffy to return, but he did not declare himself out for the remainder of Thursday’s game.

That was the wiser course of action, regardless of the opponent or the score, considering that this game was played in late January rather than during the playoffs.

Even though he feels relieved right now, a more comprehensive picture of the circumstances will be revealed on Friday.

“I hope so,” Porzingis said in response to a question about whether he will be following a daily schedule.

“I think tomorrow will be clearer, how it is doing, especially after a flight too, and all that, but as of right now, feeling pretty good and staying positive.”
