In the coming week or so, full backs will likely be the first priority for the Leads, but central defenders may also be considered, because Charlie Cresswell is expected to depart Elland Road owing to a lack of playing time.
Ben Godfrey of Everton has been mentioned as a potential replacement in the previous 48 hours. Leeds, Sheffield United, and even AC Milan are reportedly interested in signing him.
But according to journalist Luke Edwards, who spoke on the most recent episode of the Transfer Gossip Daily Podcast, Leeds and the
“There are three options there,” he stated. Without a doubt, my choice would always be AC Milan. But I think Sheffield United and Leeds United will go straight to a shootout in this one.
It’s one of those arguments that football fans may participate in. These three clubs have extremely varied requirements, standards, and circumstances. It’s an excellent three-way option, in my opinion.
Daniel Frake, the manager of Leeds, is familiar with Godfrey because he worked under him at Norwich City, particularly during the season in which the Whites defeated them to gain promotion to the Premier League in 2018–19.
Godfrey has struggled with injuries over the past two seasons at Everton, but he is still a capable defender who was previously rated at £50 million by the Canaries.
Godfrey can play Premier League football for the next five months thanks to Sheffield United, but maybe a reunion with Frake may convince him to move down to the Championship.
