Magic Johnson Makes Bold Claim About Celtics
Magic Johnson, a legend of the Los Angeles Lakers, has a lot of respect for the Boston Celtics in 2023–24. Johnson tweeted on his X account on what sets the Celtics apart from the other Eastern Conference clubs.
“Several teams in the East, including the Bucks, 76ers, Knicks, Cavaliers, and Hawks, need to make a trade before the deadline, aside from the Boston Celtics.”
Boston leads the Eastern Conference in terms of record and is now the NBA’s best club. In the race for the top spot, they are now 3.5 games ahead of the Milwaukee Buckstein are tied for the second-simplest schedule left, only to the Orlando Magic, according to Tankathon.
The Celtics have relatively few trade options, even if they want to make one. They probably won’t trade any of their top six players, and they have a $6.2 million trade exception for Grant Williams. They don’t urgently need another player, though, considering their commanding lead.
Following the Miami Heat’s acquisition of Terry Rozier from the Charlotte Hornets, Bill Simmons of The Ringer cautioned his fellow Celtics supporter on his X account.
As anyone who listens to the Simmons Pod knows, I’ve been more afraid of Miami than Philly or Milwaukee this entire time. This year, with the Lowry expiring plus picks, they were always (Emilio) Barzini. Rozier is a huge success for them. As an FYI, celts still require a bench guard (with) size.
For context, the primary adversary in the 1972 motion picture The Godfather—widely regarded as one of the greatest motion pictures ever made—is Emilio Barzini.
