49ers face a different battle from Packers passer….

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) The San Francisco 49ers, led by Aaron Rodgers, have an impressive record while facing the Green Bay Packers in the championship.

Four times, including twice in the previous four seasons, the Niners eliminated Rodgers and the Packers from the championship.

The 49ers (12-5) are excited about first-year starter Jordan Love’s play in the second half of the season, even if he doesn’t have the same pedigree as the four-time MVP. The 49ers play the Packers (10-8) on Saturday night in the divisional round.

Defensive end Nick Bosa said of the player, “He’s really good at going through his reads and playing the offense to a team.

Love had a rough start to his rookie campaign, but over the last two months, he has performed admirably. In the last nine games, he has thrown 21 touchdown passes with just one interception, and he just had one of the greatest postseason debuts ever.

In a 48-32 victory over Dallas on Sunday, Love completed 16 of 21 passes for 272 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions.

Coach Matt LaFleur remarked, “I thought he played a really, really good football game.” It will never be flawless. There will be minor elements here and there, like hanging in the pocket or making some choices, but I’ll tell you what—the guy made some huge plays in that game that, in a sense, went against the script, and that’s why I think he’s so valuable.

After regressing in Rodgers’ final season in Green Bay (2022), the Packers appear to be a top offensive team once more, with Love playing as well as he has and a group of young pass-catchers developing into serious threats.

The Niners perceive a resemblance to the formidable offenses they encountered earlier in LaFleur’s career, but they also perceive a greater degree of the coach’s impact on the scheme now that he has a developing quarterback under his tutelage.

Bosa stated, “They have a quarterback who does exactly what he is coached to do, really good teams they have had, and a lot of the same guys from the past.” “Aaron Rodgers is an incredible Hall of Famer, but he kind of stepped outside the coaching role, and sometimes having a guy who follows the plan is beneficial.”

The 49ers entered 2023 hoping to overcome their defeats in the NFC title game the previous two seasons and return to the Super Bowl. They had to win the regular season first, though, which they did, earning a first-round bye and 12 wins.

The emphasis can now truly shift to eradicating the bitter taste left by those season-ending defeats.

Trent Williams, an All-Pro left tackle, stated, “We’re excited.” You look forward to this all year, especially considering how last year concluded. The regular season has its own set of obstacles, but it’s still fun. However, you just want to go back to the regular season and this tournament when you get that close, like we did last year.
