According to records obtained from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, no deaths have occurred in San Antonio rivers or lakes so far this year. From Aug. 1, 2011 to July 31, 2016, there were seven deaths in the Alamo City, including four on the San Antonio River, records show.

Overall, there were 580 deaths on Texas rivers and lakes during that time period.

The deadliest year was 20.with 114 deaths, boosted by eight killed during the historic Memorial Day flooding in Hays County along the Blanco River. Two children remain missing after the flood.

Overall, 136 deaths occurred on rivers and 330 happened on lakes in the five-year time period. Other deaths occurred in ponds, marshes and creeks.
