The crash happened March 2 on a beginner trail on Dercum Mountain, according to Keystone Resort.
KEYSTONE, Colo. — A 14-year-old from Monument died in a snowboarding accident last weekend at Keystone Resort, according to the resort.
It happened March 2 on a beginner run on Dercum Mountain. The snowboarder, Levi Inama, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Levi did not survive his injuries, according to his family.
About 9:30 a.m. Levi’s father, Matt Inama, got a call from Keystone Ski Patrol that his son was at a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Matt and his wife drove to meet Levi at the hospital, where he died.
Levi played football and ran track and field at Palmer Ridge High School, his family said. Levi loved fishing and paddle-boarding at Monument Lake with his siblings.
“Keystone Resort, Keystone Ski Patrol and the entire Vail Resorts family extend our deepest sympathy and support to our guest’s family and friends,” said Chris Sorensen, vice president and general manager at Keystone Resort.
