On Thursday, the club announced the addition of David Blough as an assistant quarterbacks coach and William Gay as an assistant defensive backs coach.

Following a five-year stint with the Detroit Lions and Arizona Cardinals, Blough, 28, just announced his retirement. He’s made seven quarterback starts thus far.

Gay, 39, spent ten of his 11 NFL seasons as a player with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played a part in the team’s Super Bowl XLIII victory.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Anthony Lynn will be joining the Washington Commanders as their run-game coordinator.

With more than 20 years of NFL coaching experience, Lynn, 55, served as the Los Angeles Chargers’ head coach from 2017 to 2020. Lynn has served as the San Francisco 49ers’ associate head coach for the previous two seasons. The team just fell to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII.

Linebacker Haason Reddick of the Philadelphia Eagles has reportedly asked to be traded, according to NFL Network source Ian Rapoport.

The Philadelphia defense would suffer greatly if Reddick, 29, left the team. Over the last two seasons, he has been among the finest defenders for the Eagles.

SHANAHAN PRAISES COMMANDERS ON FEBRUARY 5After hiring Adam Peters as general manager and Dan Quinn as coach, the Washington Commanders gained the support of San Francisco 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan.

Shanahan, at his pre-Super Bowl press conference, commended Washington’s hires.
