Antonio Pierce Talks Openly About Raiders’ Quarterback Plans
GettyThe head coach of the Vegas Raiders is Antonio Pierce.
The quarterback tandem of Jimmy Garoppolo, Brian Hoyer, and Aidan O’Connell of the Los Vegas Raiders was heavily influenced by Josh McDaniels’ offensive philosophy. The three are still bound by their contracts through 2024, although the club will probably undergo significant changes following McDaniels’ dismissal during the 2023 campaign.
O’Connell will be in the lineup, but Hoyer may retire or be let go, and Garoppolo will most likely be released. Antonio Pierce, the head coach, says the Raiders will be adding a quarterback to the roster this summer. It’s unknown if the team would seek a rookie or experienced quarterback.
“I believe Aidan O’Connell placed himself in a situation where anyone we send in should fight,” Pierce stated during the “Rich Eisen Show” broadcast on February 6. “I’m all about rivalry. That would sort itself out. However, as the season progressed, I felt Aidan O’Connell performed a fantastic job of controlling the game, looking after the football, and carrying out our requests. We have now made some adjustments on the offensive end of the ball. As you are aware, we plan to include a quarterback in some manner and allow those players to compete.
Although the Raiders’ plans at quarterback are not shocking, Pierce has just now officially revealed them.
