Breaking News:The City of Bend is organizing an open house…

The City of Bend is planning additional pedestrian and bicycle safety improvements along NE Neff Road, following a major reconstruction that had closed the route for several months. They are hosting an open house to gather community input before the project design begins. This initiative aligns with the City Council’s goal of enhancing transportation safety and creating safer connections for cyclists, pedestrians, and other travelers between neighborhoods, schools, parks, and businesses.

The project will focus on improving east-west connectivity in a key area of Bend, combining three ‘key routes’ from the Transportation System Plan along NE Neff Road and NE Norton Avenue. These routes are designed to provide low-stress, safer travel for pedestrians and cyclists. Funded by the voter-approved 2020 Transportation GO Bond, the project has a limited budget, and community feedback will help prioritize improvements to make the corridor safer for all users.
