Steelers, Mitchell Trubisky agree to mutually part ways.

Trubisky inked a contract with Pittsburgh in 2022 spring. With seven games played, he threw for 1,252 yards and four touchdowns in his strong rookie campaign with the Steelers. Then, in 2023–2024, he passed for 4 touchdowns and 632 passing yards. He hasn’t, however, proved to be the solution Piisbrough was hoping for.

Pittsburgh concluded with a 10-7 record and just managed to secure a position in the AFC Wild Card. Sadly, the team’s loss to the Buffalo Bills was 31-17. All season long, concerns about the Steelers’ quarterback leadership raged.

Prior to the season, NFL Network revealed that Pittsburgh planned to make changes at the position. The fates of Mason Rudolph and Kenny Pickett are also in doubt, in addition to Trubisky. As far as Trubisky is concerned, the Steelers seem to have made their stand, but what about Picket and Rudolph?

By the 2024–2025 offseason, Pickett should be leading the Pittsburgh quarterbacks. But Mike Tomlin, the head coach, stated that “there will be competition” for the starting position.

Arthur Smith, the recently hired offensive coordinator, might try bringing in seasoned quarterback Ryan Tannehill. 2020 was one of the 35-year-old’s strongest seasons with the Tennessee Titans, when he served as the offensive coordinator.

All things considered; it will be intriguing to observe who becomes more involved in Pittsburgh’s offense following Mitchell Trubisky’s exit.
