Are the Philadelphia Eagles Ready to Make Big Roster Changes for 2024?

After failing to make the Super Bowl in 2023, the Philadelphia Eagles have a lot of rebuilding ahead of them. Head coach Nick Siriani will be under a lot of criticism as a result, but general manager Howie Roseman will also need to do a lot of negotiating to put together a redesigned team that can compete in the NFC.

The defense of the ball is among the most important areas they need to work on because the team hasn’t been able to prevent their opponents from scoring. Their loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card game highlighted their woeful defense.

The squad should be able to compete with the most entertaining offenses in the conference, but the offense also needs a lot of improvement.

Now, the question is how Roseman will change the team in the approaching offseason to turn them back into Super Bowl favorites.Eagles Wire’s Glenn Erby identified a few key positions that can benefit from a little updating:James Bradberry had a decline in performance in 2023. Despite recording 39 solo tackles, his lone interception rendered him a valuable but disposable member of the Philadelphia Eagles team.

Roseman would have a difficult time turning him into a valuable backup in the secondary, and the team’s salary structure could be unable to support the loss of the dead cap.

They do, however, have supplementary players who might stand to have a few touches. If Roseman decides to concentrate on the secondary, Bradberry might be one of the first to go.

The level of linebacker play in 2023 was another source of grievance for Philadelphia Eagles supporters. A standout example was when Roseman trusted the rookie linebacker, Nakobe Dean. His 2023, however, has produced just 22 solo tackles and 0.5 sacks in five games, not much to show for his GM’s faith.

Roseman’s LB strategy is under scrutiny; the adjustments he makes to the role will determine whether or not he is correct.

Although the defense was awful towards the conclusion of the season, Josh Sweat and Haason Reddick are both good defenders for Philadelphia. In 2023, Sweat recorded 6.5 sacks, 30 single tackles, and two forced turnovers, compared to 11.0 sacks and 29 solo tackles for Reddick.
