The Orlando Pirates have announced the startling development that head coach Josef Zinn Bauer has resigned effective immediately.
Per the club’s official website, the German stated, “I would like to thank the Chairman and management for the opportunity they have given me.”
Sadly, I must say that my time at the club is coming to an end. I want to express my sincere gratitude to the fans and say how much I have enjoyed my time here.
“I have chosen to submit my resignation because I have been apart from my family for the past two years. I want to send my best wishes for the future to the club and its supporters.”
The 51-year-old was in the dugout on Saturday when the Sea Robbers’ hopes of winning the title were dashed, losing 2-1 to Swallows FC in their MTN8 quarterfinal.
After 68 games, the German mentor’s record stood at 35 victories, 20 draws, and 13 losses. That was his last game. Khoza has also lately praised the merits of diligence by citing the legendary South African coach Pitso Mosimane as an example.
“I have to teach the children that hard effort is necessary to achieve success.
