Sad news: Ohio state buckeyes head coach Ryan Day just loses his…

Ohio State secures contract offensive tackle during the 2025 recruiting cycle but is no longer accepter.

Recruitment interest in the Ohio State Buckeyes is high, as Ryan Day and his coaching staff have been able to secure elite athletes in recent weeks from both the transfer portal and the recruiting trail. Carter Lowe, a four-star offensive tackle, committed to the team, continuing the encouraging trend.

Lowe, who is 6 feet 5 inches tall and 285 pounds, is ranked 85th overall and ninth among offensive linemen in the 2025 class, according to On3. In the end, Lowe selected Ohio State over Georgia and rival Michigan, citing his fond memories of trips to Columbus, despite fierce competition from both schools.

Lowe expressed his appreciation for the program and said that Coach Frye’s track record of developing athletes at Ohio State played a significant role in his decision. Lowe thinks Frye can mentor and train him to reach his intended performance level.

When Lowe looked back on his trips this season, he identified the Ohio State-Penn State game as the moment when his love for Ohio State grew. Though the Buckeyes had been at the top of his list ever since he received an offer, Lowe cemented his relationship with the program during that specific game. He took some time to process his emotions and came to the conclusion that Ohio State was the best place for him.
