The Ohio State Buckeyes are drawing significant interest from recruits, with Ryan Day and his coaching staff successfully securing top players from both the transfer portal and the recruiting trail in recent weeks. This positive trend continued with the commitment of four-star offensive tackle Carter Lowe.
On3 reports that Lowe, standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 285 pounds, is the ninth-ranked offensive lineman in the 2025 class and holds the 85th overall rank. Despite facing tough competition from Georgia and rival Michigan in the recruiting battle, Lowe ultimately chose Ohio State, citing his enjoyment of visits to Columbus.
Expressing his admiration for the program, Lowe highlighted Coach Frye as a pivotal factor in his decision, emphasizing Frye’s track record of success in developing players at Ohio State. Lowe believes Frye can coach and guide him to achieve his desired level of performance.
Reflecting on his visits during the season, Lowe pinpointed the Ohio State-Penn State game as a turning point where his affinity for Ohio State intensified. Despite having the Buckeyes high on his list since receiving an offer, it was during that particular game that Lowe solidified his connection with the program. Taking his time to assess his feelings, he ultimately decided that Ohio State was the right fit for him.
