According to reports, Tony Alford is leaving the coaching staff at Ohio State football to take a position as Michigan’s running backs coach. And the Ohio State locker room has already been the source of a lot of replies.

Although no running backs have publicly spoken on Alford’s exit, players like Jeremiah Smith, the wide receiver, and Denzel Burke and Jermaine Mathews Jr., the cornerbacks, appear to have shared their thoughts on the coaching change.

Wednesday afternoon, Mathews wrote, “Stand on what you are preaching,” on X, the platform that was formerly known as Twitter.

Burke tweeted many thumbs down emoticons, and Smith wrote “Wow.”

Miyan Williams, a former running back for Ohio State, appeared to speak out on Wednesday.

Maurice Clarett: “Please have Ryan (Day) give me a call”
Former Ohio State running back Maurice Clarett hasn’t kept quiet about what he wants from the running back room at OSU since Alford’s rumored move.

Clarett expressed his disapproval of Alford in several posts, saying that he “missed out on another championship run.” Later, he claimed that Ryan Day, the Ohio State coach, was “making room on the staff” for him and urged Day to “call me.”

At Ohio State, Clarett amassed 1,237 running yards and 18 touchdowns in a single season. In 2002, he assisted the Buckeyes in winning a national championship.
