Legend of Ohio State wants Ryan Day fired
After losing to Michigan for the third time in a row on Saturday, one former Ohio State standout has had enough.
Legendary Ohio State coach Maurice Clarett demanded that Day be fired following Michigan’s 30–24 victory against the Buckeyes, Ohio State’s third straight loss to their bitter rivals.
Clarett expressed his gratitude for Day in a post on X, but the coach makes too much money to consistently lose the biggest games.
That’s the reason you are paid millions. Clarett stated, “I can’t get paid nine minutes and lose three in a row.
The school released a statement saying, “Commissioner Petitti’s precipitous decision today implies that this is more about reacting to pressure from other Conference members than a desire to implement the rules fairly and impartially.” “The Commissioner is putting himself on the sidelines and changing the level playing field that he is purporting to protect by acting at this hour. Furthermore, it is scarcely neutral to try to prevent the institution from requesting urgent legal relief on Veteran’s Day, a court holiday.
“We intend to seek a court injunction, together with Coach Harbaugh, to guarantee fairness in the process and prevent this disciplinary penalty from taking effect.”
