The return of standout cornerback Denzel Burke for 2024 will be a huge help for Ohio State.

Prior to last month’s Cotton Bowl, the Ohio State Buckeyes players discussed in great detail the possibility of several starters who were NFL prospects coming back for the 2024 campaign.

A few of those players—including Jack Sawyer, Tyliek Williams, and Lathan Ransom—have also made their comeback announcements in recent weeks.

The greatest domino, though, dropped on Wednesday when standout cornerback Denzel Burke declared his intention to play one more season in an attempt to win a national championship for Columbus.

Burke’s return is mostly due to his intense focus on developing for the NFL.

Prior to the Cotton Bowl, Burke actually emphasized to him how important it was to be a top-10 pick, which he could be able to achieve with another season at Columbus.

 

 

ng “stated Burke. “Man, especially for me. Becoming a top-10 pick is my goal. In addition, I want to be able to demonstrate my accomplishments in the future. To be able to tell my family and children that we accomplished something when I was at Ohio State. That is a major factor for me.

Burke, the top covering corner for the Buckeyes, is among the Big Ten’s greatest defensive backs. He was a part of the best pass defense in the country, which limited opponents to 145.9 yards per game.

Burke has participated in 35 games throughout his three seasons with the Buckeyes, recording 93 tackles, six tackles for loss, two interceptions, and 26 passes defensed.
