Mike McDaniel, who was hired by the Miami Dolphins after spending five years in the Bay Area, was praised by the players of the San Francisco 49ers.

He must be ecstatic that teammates and coworkers from the San Francisco 49ers he once played with are in the Super Bowl. However, he is not happy that he is not present as well, as the AFC’s representative.

Since joining the Dolphins as head coach in 2022, McDaniel is 0-2 in postseason play, including a 26-7 loss to the eventual AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs last month.

Regarding McDaniel’s early success in Miami, 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk called it “the least shocking thing I’ve ever seen.”

Juszczyk, who spent the first five years of his career working with McDaniel in San Francisco, went on:

“I had complete faith that he would succeed wherever he went. Mike has my undying love and adoration. He’s among the sharpest football brains I’ve ever encountered. He is a really good leader who employs a distinct style of leadership that, in my opinion, has proven effective at this level.

“And even speaking with a few of his players, everyone has only positive things to say about the way he manages his club,” continued Juszczyk. I’m ecstatic for him because he’s a very wonderful person. He puts in a ton of work and deserves all of the success.

McDaniel bears some of the blame for Juszczyk’s achievements. In San Francisco, McDaniel concentrated on the run game and devised innovative strategies to make the most of the 49ers’ dynamic fullback.

Elijah Mitchell, a running back with the 49ers, said of Michael McDaniel, “He was fantastic over here, bro.” Mitchell had worked as McDaniel’s offensive coordinator during his rookie campaign, rushing for 963 yards and five touchdowns.

“He was our run game’s maestro, dude. It’s astounding. And as I say, dude, why is he in Miami? It makes sense. He is really intelligent. an excellent coach.
