The Premier League encounter between Luton Town and Bournemouth was called off due to the collapse of Hatters captain Tom Lockyer on the field.

In the 62nd minute of the premier league match, the defender went down, and medical personnel hurried to the scene to tend to him.

Since then, the club has stated that he had a heart attack. According to a statement from the club, Mr. Lockyer was conscious when he left the field and was taken to the hospital, where his status is described as “stable.”

“Further tests with his family at his bedside” were scheduled for him. The statement continued, “We would like to thank everyone for their love, support, and concern for Locks. A stretcher was brought out during the game, and players from both teams were sent to their locker rooms as the Hatters defender, who had fallen to the ground, received medical attention there.

The fans gave him a standing ovation as he was taken off the field of play on a stretcher with the medical staff around him. That was when the game was dropped.

The 29-year-old has fallen to the ground on the pitch before. He was admitted to the hospital in May following his collapse during his team’s play-off victory over Coventry.

His cardiac disease, atrial fibrillation, resulted in an erratic and frequently abnormally high heart rate. Weakness, fatigue, and dizziness are among the symptoms.
