Luton has won the bronze medal in the competition for the worst location to live in England in 2022.

Readers of the website livener were asked to rank the worst town to live in this year in a poll.

This year’s poll on the blog, which lets people submit harsh critiques of their hometowns, had almost 100,000 comments.

Luton moved up four spots from seventh to third place in the rankings from the previous year.

“Bedfordshire’s very own **** in the punch bowl, Luton, is clawing its way up the Top 10 to the bronze medal position,” liveners stated.

One reviewer on livener said of Luton, “The town itself is not easy on the eye, it makes Slough comparable to the playboy tax exile haven of Monaco.” Other reviewers have been highly critical of the place.

“I still avoid the town center which looks like something from Shaun of the Dead,” commented another critic.

Furthermore, Luton has unjustly been called “England’s toilet”.

This year, Huddersfield, which came in second, has beaten the Bedfordshire town to the post.

But Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire emerged as the clear winner of worst town in England this year, garnering over 25% more votes than Huddersfield, which came in second. Third-place Luton is only 40 minutes’ driving away from Aylesbury.
