Done Deal Luton town head coach have closes huge £46.7m signs contract with…

Andros Townsend, the English international and former Tottenham Hotspur attacker, has signed a short-term contract with Luton Town. The 32-year-old joined Luton on a three-month deal until the end of January after being released by Everton earlier in July. Initially close to joining Burnley, a deal fell through, leading Townsend to trials with Luton, where he impressed and secured a contract.

Townsend expressed his excitement about joining Luton, citing it as a good fit for both parties. Being his local team, he feels honored to represent them and hopes to contribute on and off the pitch with his experience and enthusiasm. Manager Rob Edwards praised Townsend’s attitude and Premier League quality, emphasizing his potential to make a positive impact on the team.

Townsend, who will wear the number 30 shirt for Luton, began his career at Tottenham and has also played for Newcastle United, Crystal Palace, and Everton. He has represented England and won the Premier League Goal of the Season award in 2018-19. Townsend’s debut for Luton is pending as he works on regaining match fitness after a spell without senior games due to injury.

Luton’s next match is against Nottingham Forest on October 21, and Townsend’s inclusion in the squad remains uncertain as he continues to build his fitness.
