Less than a year after guiding West Ham to an incredible victory in the Europa Conference League, Moyes will be leaving his position as manager of London Stadium due to an ugly end to the 2023–24 campaign, both at home and on the continent.
Prior to their last home game of the season—which also happens to be the last one in which the seasoned Moyes would issue commands from the home dugout at the London Stadium—the Irons had lost six straight games, including their Europa League departure at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen.
Following the Hammers’ embarrassing 5-0 loss to London rivals Chelsea last week, which saw them concede five goals on the road for the second straight game, the Scotsman’s resignation was officially announced.
