Tim Krul reflects on his departure from Norwich City after a memorable five-year stint and expresses excitement about joining Luton Town in the Premier League. Despite his successful tenure at Norwich, which included two promotions to the top flight, Krul found himself as the second-choice goalkeeper last season behind Angus Gunn.
In an interview with BBC Radio Norfolk’s The Scrimmage podcast, Krul described his time at Norwich as an “amazing rollercoaster” filled with unforgettable memories and successes. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to play for both Newcastle and Norwich, emphasizing that he wouldn’t trade his experiences for anything.
Reflecting on his move to Luton, Krul admitted feeling sad to close the chapter at Norwich but expressed enthusiasm for the new challenge. Negotiations with Luton were swift, and Krul was eager to seize the opportunity to return to the Premier League, especially since he wasn’t getting regular playing time at Norwich.
Krul’s inclusion in Luton’s squad for their upcoming match against Chelsea signals a fresh start for the experienced goalkeeper. Despite a difficult outing at Stamford Bridge in the past, Krul is optimistic about Luton’s prospects and believes the club has the potential to compete at the highest level again soon. He praises the club’s foundations and encourages fans to support the team as they strive for success under the guidance of sporting director Stuart Webber and the coaching staff.
