In order to be ready for the upcoming EFL Championship season, Enzo, 43, started working at King Power Stadium right away after agreeing to a deal that runs until 2026.
The Italian joins Leicester after most recently serving as Pep Guardiola’s first team coach at Manchester City, where he guided the squad to a treble in the Premier League, FA Cup, and UEFA Champions League in 2022–2023.
As Leicester City looks to mount a campaign for promotion and a return to the Premier League, he will now begin the process of ushering in a new era at the club.
“Enzo has a combination of personality, method, and desire that combines incredibly well with the footballing path we are aiming to follow,” said Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, chairman of Leicester City. His attitude aligns with our aim for this next chapter in Leicester City’s history and has been developed over the course of a long and varied career, which includes an exceptional education as a coach.

Maresca and the club agree to a three-year contract.
We had been drawn to Enzo’s profile for a while, and this impression was only strengthened when we met him and heard how excited he was about the project at hand. I’m confident that our fans will greet him with open arms and that we can all work together to turn the club’s direction toward future success.
“I’m really enthusiastic about the club [I’m joining] and because we have a great season ahead of us,” Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca stated.
“The goal is to play as well as we can at the beginning. From there, we can gradually develop our concept and philosophy, with winning games being the most crucial aspect.
“We will offer everything we have, without a doubt, because the club deserves it. That is our responsibility, and our job. Then, as I already stated, we will undoubtedly become better day by day and step by step.

After a treble-winning season, the Italian departs from Manchester City’s coaching staff.
On July 3, Enzo will report for pre-season training alongside the Foxes squad, which consists of the Club’s senior players who are not participating in international camps this summer.
The first opportunity for City supporters to see the new Foxes manager in the dugout will come on Saturday, July 15, when we play a preseason friendly against Northampton Town. After that, the Foxes will travel to Southeast Asia to play matches against Liverpool in Singapore (30 July) and Tottenham Hotspur in Bangkok (23 July), just before the EFL Championship gets underway.
On Thursday, June 22, the schedule for the 2023–24 EFL Championship season is announced.
