UEFA chooses Budapest to host the Champions League final in 2026, but postpones the San Siro choice for 2027.

US money Serie A champion Inter is taken over by Oaktree after its former owners defaulted on a loan.
The season began with American coach Jesse Marsch, who led the team until February. Sam Allardyce, who coached England for just one game in 2016, took over for a winless sequence of four games.

Farke’s club was 17 points behind Leicester on January 1st, in fourth position. Leeds and Leicester, who have played one fewer game, are equal on points as of Monday, but Leeds has the advantage in the goal differential tiebreaker by one goal.
Farke stated on Sunday, “I expect Leicester to go back with a game in hand. We know they have a game in hand and can move back to the top of the league.”
Farke outwitted Pep Guardiola in just his fifth Premier League game ever, but he will have people questioning his elite abilities.
In the pandemic-hit season, Norwich’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Manchester City in September 2019 proved a false dawn. In June 2020, matches were played again in empty stadiums, and Farke’s squad lost all nine rounds with a total score of 23-1.
After leading Norwich to yet another promotion, Farke was sacked in November 2021, the penultimate season in the Premier League. Farke did not play a single game during his brief stint in Russia at Krasnodar following the invasion of Ukraine, and he had an unproductive 2022–23 season at Borussia Mönchengladbach.
