Jesse Marsch eyes Premier League return as he makes ‘heartbroken’ Leeds United admission.
In 2022, the 50-year-old received his first chance to play English football when he was selected to take Marcelo Bielsa’s spot at Elland Road. In spite of his first campaign’s success in keeping the Whites in the top division, his second term was a complete failure.
He ultimately paid the price for witnessing an alarming downturn in his employment, even when substitutions in the dugout were unable to keep Leeds from going down.
Marsch was fired from West Yorkshire more than a year ago, and he hasn’t gone back to managing. The American, though, is eager for another chance and would like to try coaching in the Premier League once more.
He remarked, “I love the Premier League and I love the power of what the league means globally, but honestly the true answer is I want to find like-minded people who are committed to developing people, relationships, and building something,” during Monday Night Football on Sky Sports.
Since losing his job as Leeds’ manager, Marsch has maintained that if he had remained in the position, the team’s fortunes would have been turned around. Being open about his time at Leeds, Marsch acknowledged that it was hard to say farewell to his teammates.
“It was really difficult for me to say goodbye to them and I didn’t because I knew if I stood in front of them I’d break down,” he stated after admitting that he was heartbroken. I thus merely dealt with many of them one-on-one. Naturally, when outcomes aren’t what they should be, there will always be concerns from above.
“I can see why choices are made. Of course, I wish things had turned out differently, and I genuinely think we were headed in the right direction to continue improving and get the required results, but this is football.”I’ve been kind of hoping that we might reconnect in the Premier League, but if it doesn’t work out, I have to look for other opportunities what comes next for me.
