After Ipswich Town’s incredible comeback victory over Bristol City, striker Ali Al-Hamadi used some coarse language in an interview, for which Sky Sports was forced to issue a swift apology.
With just ten games remaining, the Tractor Boys are on track for automatic promotion to the Premier League after coming back from behind twice in a hard-fought 3-2 victory to maintain their second place standing in the Championship. The 22-year-old Al-Hamadi tied the score at one minute after entering the game in the second half, but the visitors City quickly reclaimed the lead.
Al-Hamadi was given the opportunity to give Ipswich the lead at Portman Road from the penalty spot after Conor Chaplin tied the score at 2-2. Regretfully, Max O’Leary, the goalkeeper for the Robins, stopped the Iraqi international who was reared in Liverpool in the lower left corner.
Fortunately for Al-Hamadi, a minute remained in normal time, team-mate Leif Davis, who had set up Ipswich’s first two goals, reached the back of the net to secure a crucial win. Following the game, Davis and Al-Hamadi spoke with Sky Sports, with the latter taking issue with the player’s remarks.

“Apologies for the language there!” Sky’s correspondent shot back in a hurry.
Al-Hamadi made his League Two debut with Wimbledon, tallying 27 goals and dishing out eight assists in 48 appearances after failing to cut it at Swansea City and struggling at Wycombe Wanderers. “On the surface, the narrative seems incredible. I embrace the challenge; therefore I’m not avoiding it. Because I deserve to be here, I am here,” the 22-year-old continued.

After taking advantage of a mistake made by Leeds, who are currently in third position, Ipswich has now won six straight games to increase their hopes of promotion. This Saturday, McKenna and company will play Cardiff City away from home. Leeds will visit Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday the day before.
