Ipswich Town Had Lengthy Contract Ready for Target.
In order to expand his attacking options, Kieran McKenna brought in Kieffer Moore on loan from Bournemouth during the summer window.
Ipswich was interested in signing Gallagher from Blackburn, but the Ewood Park team declined offers for the striker.
Gallagher’s contract has a condition that Blackburn will activate to extend it by an additional year so he is prevented from leaving for no reason in the summer.
However, if Gallagher had been allowed to join Ipswich, he would have had a great deal of security.
He was about to get a three-and-a-half-year contract from the Tractor Boys that would last until the summer of 2024.
It will be interesting to see whether Ipswich gives Gallagher another look in the summer.
Gallagher joined Blackburn in 2019 after progressing through the junior systems at Southampton and Plymouth Argyle.
On Monday, Blackburn Rovers anticipate learning if they can sign Orlando City’s Duncan McGuire.
