On Saturday, Suffolk Town will host Sheffield Wednesday at Portman Road in a match that will have a significant impact on both ends of the Championship table.
After losing to Cardiff City the previous weekend, the home team is now in third place in the fight for automatic promotion, one point behind Leeds United. Meanwhile, their opponents, who also suffered a setback last Friday, are one point outside of safety.

Under Kieran McKenna’s direction, Ipswich Town will make their Portman Road debut on Saturday, hoping to bounce back from a loss the previous weekend in their pursuit of back-to-back promotions.
The Tractor Boys have had an incredible start to their second-tier English campaign. After earning 78 points from their first 37 games, they have won 23 of those games and only lost five, which is the fewest losses in the division. As of right now, they are leading the race for the top two spots.
Following a losing streak of nine games between mid-December and mid-February, McKenna’s team rebounded to take the lead with a run of six straight three-pointers. This culminated in a thrilling 3-2 victory at home over Bristol City, where they overcame a 2-1 deficit in the final ten minutes of play thanks to goals from Conor Chaplin and Leif Davis.
Prior to a trip to Cardiff City this weekend, the Suffolk team had trailed Leeds United, who had defeated Sheffield Wednesday last Friday. They were determined to make it seven wins in a row, and Moore opened the score in the 79th minute. However, Ryan Wintle tied the score deep into injury time, and Callum O’Dowda secured all three points for the Welsh team in the tenth additional minute.
Sheffield Wednesday, who were promoted from League One the previous season and are aiming to maintain their second-tier standing, stand in their way.
Under Danny Rohl’s leadership, the South Yorkshire team has given itself a fighting chance in recent months after suffering a miserable start to the season. They now have 38 points from 37 games, with 10 victories from their last 19 efforts since the start of December.
After a difficult start to the season, the Owls were able to close the gap on safety with their best run of the year, winning four games in a row in the league. They started the run by defeating Millwall and Bristol City, then defeated Rotherham United and Plymouth Argyle 1-0, with goals from Ike Ugbo and Jeidi Gassama, respectively.
In a Yorkshire Derby on Friday, Rohl’s team welcomed promotion-chasing Leeds United to Hillsborough with the goal of making it five straight wins and ultimately escaping the drop zone. However, they were unable to strengthen their survival bid and ultimately lost 2-0, with Patrick Bamford opening the score just before halftime and Willy Gnonto adding another goal just after the hour mark.
