Breaking News: Indianapolis colts just fired their head coach due to…

Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich is fired due to offensive struggles.

After the Colts’ third straight defeat and again another poor offensive showing, head coach Frank Reich has been let go by the organization. Jeff Saturday, an ESPN commentator and 13-year Colts player, has been named head coach in the interim.

The Colts made the announcement on Monday, the day after suffering a humiliating 26-3 defeat to New England in which they completed only 121 yards of offense while going 0 for 14 on third down. The league’s lowest scoring offense is led by Indianapolis (3-5-1).

Following Sunday’s defeat, she remarked, “Offensive performance; that’s why I was recruited here.” “I am accountable for that. The players are here, then. We have more than enough talented players on our roster. I need to work harder at it. I take the offensive first. I must work more at getting the boys ready for games, positioning players for success, and being prepared with solutions for any issues that may arise.

After leading the Super Bowl-winning Philadelphia Eagles as their offensive coordinator, Reich was hired in 2018. After leading the Colts to the postseason in two of his first four seasons, he almost made it back in the previous year. However, Indianapolis lost their final two games and missed the postseason.

Indy has made three significant moves in the last three weeks. Longtime NFL veteran and 2016 MVP Matt Ryan was benched, Reich stated two weeks ago. Even though Reich was the one directing plays, he dismissed offensive coordinator Marcus Brady last week. Additionally, last Tuesday, right before the trade deadline, general manager Chris Ballard dealt running back Nyheim Hines.

Additionally, Reich had to deal with a quarterback rotation. To begin with, 2019 saw the retirement of franchise quarterback Andrew Luck. Last season, Carson Wentz—who had thrived under Reich in Philadelphia—was brought in, but he had a terrible season. Ryan performed a little better last month, and Sam Ehlinger was benched in favor of him.
