Contest in the backyard rink with the opportunity to lace up with Sting players

The Sarnia Sting hockey team is interested in seeing your backyard rinks because it’s really cold outside.

Fans can enter to win a reward pack by sending in a picture of their creations to the OHL team.

According to Jake Bourrie, vice president of business operations, it’s a fantastic opportunity for the staff to engage with the community.

“First and foremost, you’ll get the chance to play face-to-face with your favourite Sting players; they’ll come and play on your backyard rink with you,” Bourrie stated. As a small token of appreciation for their efforts, our sponsors at Imperial have given the parents a $500 Esso gasoline card. There must be a lot of driving involved to get to and from the rink. We also offer a flex ticket package and a winter swag bag so you can see your favorite athletes in person.”

According to Bourrie, their plans to participate in the event were derailed by the unusually warm winter of the previous year.

“Of course, being in southwestern Ontario, it’s an unpredictable climate,” he stated. “We’ve had some cold temperatures here as of late, and we’re looking to take advantage of it.”

In recent weeks, the club has averaged more than 4,000 spectators. According to Bourrie, the group is incredibly appreciative of their ongoing assistance.

“It’s been amazing,” Bourrie remarked. We’re incredibly appreciative to be able to live, work, and play in Sarnia-Lambton’s encouraging community. Over the past year or so, they have truly demonstrated their support for the group. We sincerely apologize to the business sponsors and the supporters in the stands. All we can do is keep moving forward on this track and look forward to a very bright future.
