Breaking News: PING Announces the Launch of a New Junior…

PING has announced plans to launch a new junior golf circuit in the UK in 2025, targeting players aged 6 to 21. Named the PING Junior Golf Tour, the circuit will feature two levels: the ‘Rookies Tour’ for boys and girls aged 6-12 who don’t have an official WHS Handicap Index and will play nine holes from forward tees, and the ‘Masters Tour’ for players up to 21 years old who hold an official WHS Handicap Index, competing over 18 holes with a season-long Order of Merit.

PING expressed pride in the initiative, which aims to cater to golfers of all abilities, offering them the chance to experience new courses and enhance their understanding of the game. Building on a 15-year collaboration with the Northern Junior Tour, this new tour will extend the competition nationwide, providing more junior golfers with enjoyable and competitive opportunities.

Matt Clark, PING Europe’s European marketing manager, shared his excitement about the 2025 launch, emphasizing the importance of supporting junior golf in the UK. He also praised the work of Jason Budd and Mike Greener, tour directors, for fostering a strong golfing community. The tour is designed to help young players develop both on and off the course, promoting a supportive and competitive atmosphere.

With 20 qualifying events, including four major tournaments, the PING Junior Golf Tour will culminate in a Grand Final at Thonock Park in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire.
