Breaking news: Fulham manager Marco Silva announced his his departure due to……

Alex Iwobi is in good mental health, according to Fulham manager Marco Silva, despite the negative feedback he received from his participation for Nigeria in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The 27-year-old lost the tournament final to Ivory Coast, denying him the chance to earn his first international trophy.

Following the Elephants’ loss, Super Eagles supporters bombarded Iwobi with hateful comments on social media. The winger responded by removing every Instagram post he had made.

Iwobi has been made into a scapegoat by Nigerians, but he has the support of his teammates and is reportedly unwilling to leave the national team despite the criticism.

Due to his international commitment, he hasn’t played for the Cottagers since the beginning of 2024; therefore, his comeback will be extremely beneficial to the London-based team.

In response to a question regarding Alex Iwobi’s mental health and whether or not he has spoken with Iwobi prior to the Premier League encounter with Aston Villa, Silva assured reporters during yesterday’s pre-game press conference that Iwobi is in excellent mental health. When Alex is on the field doing what he loves, he is a happy boy who always has a smile on his face. I am aware of some of what people have said about it, but not all of it.I don’t see any justifications because, of course, winning a game means winning it jointly, and losing a game means losing it together. Up to the final, they performed admirably.

“People reacted, believing that to be the best, after they lost the final. They attacked him on social media, which is why I think it was totally unfair. When there is no justification for it, it seems even more odd.

Naturally, since he got here, we had a conversation. He and Calvin Bassey will both be playing in tomorrow’s game.

Iwobi has made 19 appearances for the Cottagers in all competitions, contributing five goals.
