There are constant reminders of Sean Dyche’s legacy throughout Burnley.
The tavern bearing his name is located on the corner of Yorkshire Street, not far from Turf Moor. 2018 saw landlady Justine Lorriman rename The Princess Royal as The Royal Dyche thanks to his accomplishments as Burnley manager. The pub’s amusing advertising, which has Dyche’s face superimposed on King Henry VIII’s torso, is still hanging beside the entrance.
Dyche had never been to the bar throughout his time at Burnley. However, three months after being fired as manager, in July, he made good on his pledge to do so.
Lorriman had planned a covert gathering for about fifty friends, relatives, supporters, and patrons of the pub. It was intended for Dyche to provide a tour of the team and do a Q&A regarding his nearly ten-year tenure at Burnley. He was greeted like a hero, shook hands with the people, and posed for pictures in the courtyard.
