On Monday night, Sheffield United supporters were observed getting up from their seats as Arsenal quickly took a 4-0 lead.
After winning six straight Premier League games, the Gunners were in scorching form when they came, and they quickly put their opponents—who were in danger of relegation—under control. And much as everyone had predicted, Mikel Arteta’s team started off wildly winning.
After five minutes, Martin Odegaard scored the first goal. Omar Bogle then had to make an own goal save from Bukayo Saka, and Gabriel Martinelli’s deflected shot found its way in at the near post. The Blades had switched players by the time Kai Havertz scored a fourth goal in the twenty-fiveth minute.
Ben Osborn was substituted for veteran midfielder Oliver Norwood in the seventeenth minute after Chris Wilder had hooked him. It didn’t really help them, though, as Arsenal maintained their complete dominance, sending several supporters towards the concourse to get a drink or go early.
Rival fans on Twitter expressed a mixture of sorrow and mockery in response to the brutal beating. One supporter said, “Shocking from the team, feel for the Sheff Utd fans.” Another said, “Sheff Utd fans are about to catch the end of Corrie.”
“Refunding season tickets to all Sheff Utd supporters this season is the correct thing to do. It’s obvious that these players have given up and don’t intend to compete,” one person wrote. After 24 minutes, another said, “Sheff Utd fans are heading home.” status of that. Not true admirers.”

Declan Rice scored the bottom corner from another Saka cutback shortly after, making it 5-0. According to former Arsenal striker Alan Smith, “this is turning into an absolute humiliation for Sheffield United and a masterclass from Arsenal,” he remarked on Sky Sports. “We have seen this before at West Ham as some of the fans go home early.”

In the history of the English League, no side has won three straight away games by five goals or more. But you wouldn’t bet against Arsenal, who were leading 5-0 at the interval and destroying the Premier League’s lowest team.
Sheffield United has already given up five goals on six different occasions in the Premier League this year. With 11 games remaining in the season, that is a shared record in the top division.
