so sad and painful news Everton key player broke down in tears as the terrible result of……

Former Everton winger Andros Townsend has labeled the ongoing Profit and Sustainability Rules cases against Everton and Nottingham Forest as “nonsense.”

Earlier in the campaign, Everton had 10 points deducted, which was later reduced to six following an appeal. Last week, it was announced that Nottingham Forest would also have four points deducted from their Premier League total, although they have expressed their intention to appeal.

Currently, Everton awaits the outcome of a second charge, with proceedings taking place this week. This decision, too, could be subject to an appeal.

Townsend, who spent two seasons at Everton before joining Luton Town, highlighted the disruption caused by the deductions and reductions. Luton has experienced fluctuating positions in the relegation zone throughout the season due to these sanctions. They currently sit in 17th place, one point clear of the bottom three after Forest’s penalty.

Speaking on the Monday Night Club, Townsend shared insights into how the Luton squad is coping with the situation. He recounted a meeting called by their manager after a significant victory over Brighton, where the manager displayed the table showing Everton’s points deduction to keep the team grounded and manage expectations.

With uncertainty looming over the outcomes of the ongoing cases and potential further deductions, Townsend emphasized the absurdity of the situation, describing it as “nonsense.”

As Luton prepares to face Tottenham Hotspur this weekend, and Everton seeks to break an 11-game winless streak against Bournemouth, the Blues find themselves four points ahead of Forest, having played one more game.
