Everton transfer news as eleventh-hour Jarrad Branthwaite’s January update emerges from Goodison Park.
According to Liverpool World, Everton is not under any obligation to sell Jarrad Branthwaite, and teams are unlikely to meet the Toffees’ asking price in the last days of the transfer window.
Sean Dyche’s team may ask for up to £75 million for the center back this month, the publication said on its website on Monday, January 29. However, since there are still a few days left until the transfer deadline, no one is anticipated to make such a proposal.
Despite being constantly linked to a transfer away from Merseyside, Branthwaite signed a new contract at Goodison Park earlier this season. As of right now, it seems doubtful that he would finalize an eleventh-hour departure before Thursday, February 1.
Fantastic news.
Given his outstanding performances this season alongside James Tarkowski in Everton’s backline, interest in Branthwaite was always going to be high, but the Toffees have put themselves in a great position to keep him at Goodison.
With only a few days remaining in the window, he’s unlikely to be moving anytime soon thanks to his new contract, which provides some stability and guarantees that it will take a significant deal to get his services either this month or in the summer.
Due to recent financial and sustainability penalties, teams all over the world, but notably those in the Premier League, have been hesitant to spend this month. As a result, it would come as a major surprise to see someone bid £75 million in the final knockout round.
The Blues’ priority must be staying in the Premier League and avoiding being pulled back into the battle to escape relegation before the conclusion of the season. Everton supporters will be hoping that the same holds true in the summer.
In other Everton news, an incident during the Toffees’ FA Cup matchup with Luton has left Joey Barton furious.
